When I was a kid my uncle used to hold me under the water as a joke so I'd think I was drowning, was this abuse or fun and play?

He was a big screamer at his own kids but never yelled at me as we only saw him two or three times each summer and then once at the holidays (he was never the closest relative).

He is deceased now and I am 42 but I am still scared of pools when I think of it.
