Britni:
Is it typical for kids to tell you what the problem is after you stop asking?
(9 September 2016)

Britni:

It's not that I wanna harass kids and make them talk to me, but they clearly indicate in both examples that they want you to help them, but don't tell you what's wrong when you ask them.

The next week, there was a kid who kept acting up trying to get attention from me and my co-counselor, but wouldn't tell us why, so we told him if he has a problem he is free to let us know, and a few minutes later came to tell us.

Britni:
Five minutes later he started telling me about kids in his cabin teasing him constantly and teaming up on him.

Britni:
After several times asking when he was following me around crying I just told him whenever he was comfortable talking, I'd listen.

Britni:
At summer camp this year, one kid about 11 years old grabbed onto my arm and started to cry and when I kept asking him what was wrong he kept saying he'd be fine.

Britni:
I have had a few times working with kids where this happened.
